When you step through the Animal Kingdom gates you will be transported to another country. All that is around you is Africa. Beautiful, lush and wild. In this park most of the animals you see are real, not animatronics. There are hundreds of thousands of plants, tropical vegetation and is home to over 1600 animals throughout the park. Animal Kingdom is not a zoo, it is a celebration of animals.
FUN FACTS: Opened in 1998. Disney's Animal Kingdom has more than 4 million plants and trees. There are plants from every continent on Earth, except for Antarctica.
Animal Kingdom covers 500 acres of Central Florida and is Walt Disney World’s largest theme park.
It took almost 3 years to complete it at an estimated costs of $800 million dollars.
