MAHARAJAH JUNGLE TREK is where you can take your time and be transported to Asia. The area is absolutely beautiful. There is lots to see all around you so take your time.
It is inhabited by exotic animals including Giant Fruit Bats (32 of them, some with 6 ft wingspan), birds...
Fun Fact: Some of the viewing areas are without glass panes or wire coverings. These bats have a 6-foot wingspan and can't get thru the 14-inch window frame, so no worries.
... and huge dinosaur looking Komodo Dragons....
...and tigers! The 6 Bengal Tigers are in a beautiful habitat and run freely in their surroundings. You can watch them for hours, if you choose. There are 6 viewing areas so everyone in the family will be able to have a good view.
They play and chase each other over the ruins...
...and in and out of the water.
FUN FACT: These tigers were born in captivity but Disney lets them be tigers and stay wild. None of them are trained. (picture by adisneyworld)
The half-mile long path is lined with costumed Cast Members at the wildlife viewing areas to answer any questions you may have.

If you need to cool off Kali River Rapids is the ride to go on. You get on board a huge 12-seater raft and hang on for an incredible adventure.

Rising almost 200 feet is the incredible ride, EXPEDITION EVEREST - LEGEND OF THE FORBIDDEN MOUNTAIN!
As you walk thru the village of Curisdan, which feels like you are walking in the foothills of the Himalayas. Through ancient ruins and artifacts you will learn about the legendary Abominable Snowman.
If you are brave enough to travel through the forbidden mountain pass where the Yeti protects his sacred territory, you will board a refurbished mountain train and begin your ascent to the base camp up Expedition Everest.
If you look around as you travel up the mountain you will see signs of the Yeti’s presence. (This ride scared the bejesus out of me) It is definitely fast and it is a very popular ride!
Then……the train stops because the track that you are supposed to use is ripped up. If you like scary rides, this is for you! Plunging through caverns backwards is not my kind of fun but the kids love it!
Keep your eyes open for the Yeti. He looks like a very real and very scary creature. (picture bydwtickets)
