WELCOME TO WORLD SHOWCASE: THE AMERICAN ADVENTURE!
The AMERICAN PAVILION is a cultural area where Guests of all ages can experience thearchitecture, art, food and traditions of the U.S.A.
The American pavilion is a gorgeous colonial-style white mansion adorned with red, white and blue decorations. The America Pavilion is all about patriotism, with the gardens planted in hues of red, white and blue. The rose bushes are different varieties named for U.S. Presidents.
The lobby and halls are lined with quotations from notable Americans such as Walt Disney, Jane Addams, Althea Gibson, Charles A. Lindbergh, Ayn Rand, Thomas Wolfe and Wendell Wilkie. The artwork shows the development progress of the United States.
FUN FACTS: The 110,000 bricks used on the building are all hand-made from Georgia clay and were tinted and aged to add authenticity. The interior floors are made from marble and copper. (Bonnie was a baaaaad girl!)
ATTRACTIONS:
THE AMERICAN ADVENTURE is a patriotic look on how America became America with the help of some extraordinary American heroes. The 30 minute show is hosted by Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain. The show is what Disney does best, blending Audio-animatronics with music and images on the screen.
FUN FACTS: The most significant influence on the design of the interior of the American Adventure was Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and Richmond House
Please enjoy a few moments from The American Adventure!
Take your time checking out all of the flags that have represented the U.S. during the course of history. Also, check out the six statues on each side of the theatre which represents Adventure, Compassion, Discovery, Freedom, Heritage, Independence, Individualism, Innovation, Knowledge, Pioneering, Self-Reliance and Tomorrow.
GUEST POLICIES: For Guests with hearing impairments; Handheld Captioning Device & Reflective Captioning Devices are available at Guest Services. Guests may remain in wheelchair or ECV. All areas of the American Adventure are wheelchair accessible.
FUN FACTS: The American Adventure building is five stories high but "forced perspective" makes it look only two stories high. This way it accurately reflects colonial architecture which buildings were never more than two stories. (Personally, I think this is a good look for Stephen!)
