Judy's Disney Blog

Hello, all of you fellow Disney Lovers!!!!

My name is Judy (on the right) and I LOVE Walt Disney! My husband, Russell, and I have been a Disney Lover for over 38 years. We raised our two girls, Michelle and Jamie, on Disneyland and now we are raising our four grandchildren on Disneyland and Disneyworld.

My husband and I have been to Disneyland over 25 times and to Disneyworld 5 times. We know where all the great rides are for age appropriate kids. (I'm talking about us adults!) Friends and family come to us for information on where to eat (our favorite fun restaurants) and what rides you shouldn’t miss.

When they are old enough to do the walking they are automatically promoted to Disneyworld. There is nothing more incredible than walking in to the Disney Park for the first time and marveling at the amazing construction of the fairytale castles, Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland and Cinderella's Castle at Disneyworld. Both are beautiful but the Cinderella's Castle is larger. The picture I have at the top of my blog is Cinderella's Castle. It is breathtaking and looks like it should be in a dream.

Our Vacation

Disney Bus

With Disneyworld Vacation Packets there will be this wonderful bus that picks you and your family up ........and your luggage. Disney sends you special luggage tags so you don't even have to worry about your luggage at the airport. Disney takes care of everything. (You can book your Disney Vacation on my Sea and Sand Vacations site)

(Kudos to Gina at Gina's Treasure Chest on ebay for making this Disneyworld paper piecing)

Before entering Disney property you will go through the Walt Disney Arch. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald will be waving as you go past them. When you go through these gates, your Disney vacation will officially begin.

Russ & Judy

We have some close friends, Bonnie & Stephen, who actually took us on their vacation to Disneyworld as Travel Guides. Yep, you heard it correctly. We had a ball! Russ and I planned the whole vacation for them. Every day, for 2 full weeks, we had a whole day of Fun, Fun and more Fun! No kids! No schedules! Nothing we had to do but what we wanted to do!

As you can tell we started the fun when we got to the hotel!

Bonnie and Stephen

Bonnie & Stephen
said that it was the best vacation they ever had! You will be able to tell how much FUN we had because I will be posting their pictures throughout my blog and posts. They take the greatest pictures! These pictures say it all!

REMEMBER TO DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!...

...AND WEAR A HAT!!!

In the future, I will also be posting about both Water Parks, Seaworld, Universal Studios, Disneyland and Cape Canaveral Space Center. (We went there, too!) There is so much to do and so much to see there, especially if this is your first visit. So, if I can help you and your family in anyway, it would be my pleasure. The most important tip that I can share with you is for your little ones, even if it isn't your first Disney Trip. Try to break up the day so the little ones don't get so tired. Go early in the morning and by 1:00 p.m. leave the park for 3 or 4 hours so you can eat lunch and the little ones can take a nap or take a refreshing swim in the pool. That way the evening in Disney will be so much enjoyable.

My Business Card!

I respectfully ask that all of you remember to honor the sacrifices that millions of our men and women have made to ensure our freedom and safety in these United States of America. Here at Judysdisney.com we humbly pay our respect to and thank those who have served, are currently serving, or have friends and family in the armed forces. Thank You and God Bless You!

The answer to today's Twitter Weekly Trivia Question:
Only 10,000 visited Walt Disney World during its opening year, but soon grew to an average of 10,000 an hour!

New Baby Elephant arrives at Animal Kingdom

Luna

(posted on May 21st, 2010 by Jackie Odgen, Vice President of Animal Programs and Environmental Initiatives, Disney Parks)

UPDATE – May 24: Disney’s Animal Programs has landed on Luna as the name for the baby elephant born late last Thursday. With Latin roots, Luna means moon in multiple languages. Disney’s animal care team wanted a name that best suited the female calf’s shining personality as the brightest light among the herd. Weighing 288 pounds at birth, Luna is the fifth elephant born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. She joins the herd of thirteen, which now includes five males and eight females.

Luna

Luna’s mother Donna is reportedly doing well after gaining more than 400 pounds during the 22-month gestation. Animal experts describe her as a model mother, taking excellent care of her newborn calf. Mother and child remain backstage while the calf becomes acclimated to other herd mates.

Elephant fun fact: An elephant calf learns how and what to eat by watching the older elephants.
